"One Hundred Years Captured in The State News" tracks the history of Michigan State University's student newspaper and the news events that shaped it from its creation in 1909 to combat a negative image of students in the Lansing press to its current form as an award-winning daily newspaper and online media operation.

Along the way, you'll hear the voices of the people who ran the newspaper as students and were shaped by that experience.

This 264 page, hardcover commemorative book is being published by the State News Alumni Association to mark the 100th anniversary in 2009 of the student newspaper, which launched as The Holcad and later became The State News.

Proceeds from the sale of "One Hundred Years Captured in The State News" benefit the State News Alumni Association's scholarship fund, which is used to recognize, reward and encourage continued student excellence at the newspaper.
